I’m Mark Squires — a software engineer, educator, and lifelong learner. I strive to make complex technical topics simple, practical, and accessible. Over the past 24 years, my work and hobbies have spanned software development, cloud architecture, algorithmic trading, real estate technology, and entrepreneurship. I’ve led engineering teams, modernized legacy systems, launched new digital products, and developed data-driven trading tools from scratch.
Recently, I’ve served as a Microsoft TEALS volunteer, teaching Python programming to high school students and helping them prepare for and achieve their PCAP (Python Certified Associate Programmer) certification. Helping the next generation of developers, especially those exploring coding for the first time, has been one of the most meaningful parts of my career.
This website is for sharing educational content on programming, technology, math, problem-solving, and career development. My mission is simple: create clear, actionable resources that help people learn faster, think deeper, and build confidently — whether you’re a beginner, an aspiring software engineer, or a seasoned professional, there is something here for you.
I’m always interested in new volunteer opportunities, consulting work, and collaborations with schools, organizations, and teams that need support in technical strategy, engineering leadership, or Python education. If you have an idea, a question, or a topic you’d like to see covered on the site, I’d love to hear from you — your suggestions directly guide the content I create.
If something I write helps you grow, solve a problem, or explore a new direction, then this work has done its job.
